News
Research Space has grown a lot these last few years; the development and release of RSpace Inventory, as well as our focus on enabling FAIR workflows through integrating with the likes of DMPTool, has both strengthened our product offering and given us a clearer direction in our product development than ever before. We've found ourselves interacting more and more with FAIR data advocates, and reflecting on how important it is that we support reproducibility in research through the features we build and workflows we enable. We're more excited than ever for the future of ELNs and the role they will continue to play in enabling quality research, and we wanted to make sure our values and enthusiasm are reflected in how we present ourselves to the world. This is why we are incredibly excited to release a completely new website for Research Space!
We've refreshed both our content and design for an entirely upgraded experience.
First of all, we understand that our audience isn't uniform: based on your role within an institution and the institution you're part of, you will undoubtedly have different needs and questions regarding the capabilities of an ELN and its inventory system. This is why we've created dedicated pages for Researchers, PIs & Lab Admins, Research Data Managers, IT & Admins, Data Scientists, BioTech Managers, and German Institutions; each page caters to a specific group of users to facilitate finding the information that's most relevant to you.
In addition to refreshing our existing content and adding user pages, we've created new pages on topics that are at the forefront of our focus, such as the upcoming NIH Data Sharing Policy, Compliance with GDPR and privacy requirements, and Security of your research data and personal information. We also highlight interesting talks that we attend or participate in on our new RSpace TV section, and we've got a dedicated page for the Fair Data Podcast we've launched earlier in the year — we'd encourage you to give it a listen!
Design-wise, we're using "info cards" to group related information on a page, to provide a necessary amount of detail without the content becoming overwhelming. We've taken great care to ensure the information has space to breathe and flows logically down the page for a smoother reading experience. We've also refreshed our fonts, colours, and illustrations for a modern and inviting look, and we hope you like it!
All website pages can be accessed through the top navigation or bottom footer of every page. If you have any links you've saved that point to old pages, don't worry; we've set up redirects so that you'll be navigated to the corresponding page on the new site.
We really hope you find this new website easier to navigate and that it answers all your questions about Research Space and our products. We'd love your feedback, so let us know if we're missing any essential information! And finally, make sure to keep an eye out as we'll be regularly updating the site with new content on the exciting developments we've got planned for you!
Thank you for your continued support,
The RSpace Team

Chemistry in RSpace: What a Year of Open-Source Development Looks LikeProduct Updates
A year after transitioning RSpace's chemistry tools to an open-source stack, we look at what has been built since: an open chemistry codebase on GitHub, PubChem compound import directly from documents, and stoichiometry tables connected to inventory management. We also preview what comes next, including chemistry-aware metadata in exports to generalist and domain repositories.
